Anti Graffiti Coatings
Landor’s Anti-Graffiti coating is a highly flexible, water, Chemical and UV resistant Liquid Laminate, easily cleaned with solvent or Landor’ non-petroleum citrus based cleaner. Many solvent based Graffiti paints can be simply cleaned without damage to the protective laminate surface. Some may work with just water, whereas others may require stronger chemistry to remove them. With so many different paints and pens, in the market it is impossible to test everything but the most important thing is that when cleaned up the gloss level should remain un affected on the digital print protective coating, after graffit is removed.
Landor Anti-Graffiti coating is now a two part water based coating, as well as a clear overcoat liquid laminate. This makes it even more robust and tough against Graffiti attack. Landor anti graffiti coatings will provide in itself, excellent water & chemical resistance, abrasion and UV protection, similar to our other coatings with the added benefit of Graffiti resistance. Due to its enhanced Anti-Graffiti (Solvent Paint washable) and resistance characteristics it is not suitable for additional Coats. (it is designed to repel as much as it can as well as your second coating!) So you can only coat once. If you want a tougher base, then use our water based coating as a primer, then do a second coat with the anti graffiti 2 part coating. Landor Anti-Graffiti is ideal for areas where the risk of damage from graffiti attacks using solvent and Acrylic sprays, paints, and marker pens but we cannot gurantee every pen or market, but our comprehensive tests indicate you should be very well protected and successful removing graffiti from your prints when using our anti-graffiti coating.
Landor Liquid Laminates can in themselves sometimes be used to act as a graffiti resist to many other pens and markings on a graphic, especially if you want a matt or satin finish. In some cases you may need to use one of our primers or coatings to double up as a primer to improve adhesion with difficult surfaces with poor surface tension – such as UV inks and rigid boards. The anti graffiti coated surface may be cleaned with a range of solvents. (No effect was shown on a 10 minute spot test done with the following chemicals: Acetone, Toluene, Gasoline, Ammonia (5%) as well as withstanding 200+ double rubs of MEK ) or the Landor citrus-based graffiti remover. Our Anti graffiti remover allows a quick, removal of graffiti.
Landor Anti-Graffiti Liquid Laminate is available in Gloss. However, if a more subtle finish is required, it is possible to apply our Matt protective coating prior to applying our Anti graffiti coating. This does not guarantee the satin or matt finish but can diffuse somewhat the gloss finish for those not wishing to have too shiny a surface coating.
